I'm at a small gathering with my dogs. Much to my surprise and chagrin, my ex wife and the guy she was running around with behind my back, who we will call fuckboy, show up. I do my best to ignore them. At one point, everyone goes outside and the hosts are walking my dogs around. I see that they allow fuckboy to walk one of my dogs. I tell the host that I don't want fuckboy doing this on the basis that I do not like him. They relay this info to him, and take back possession of my dog. For some reason, I feel guilty for this. Some time later. My ex wife attempts to talk to me, and I'm mostly dismissive. They go to leave, and fuckboy gives me a small wave, which I don't return. Again, this makes me feel guilty.
This dream may symbolize unresolved feelings and issues related to your past relationship with your ex-wife and the betrayal you experienced with the involvement of the other person, "fuckboy". The presence of your ex-wife and the other man may indicate that there are still lingering emotions and discomfort surrounding that chapter of your life.
The fact that they are at a gathering with you and interacting with your dogs could represent how these past events continue to intrude upon your current life and relationships. Your reluctance to engage with them in the dream suggests a desire to distance yourself from those memories and individuals.
Feeling guilty in the dream when you assert your boundaries and stand up for yourself may point to internal conflict or self-doubt about setting clear boundaries in waking life. The guilt you experience for not returning the wave from "fuckboy" could stem from a residual sense of responsibility or unfinished business that you may need to address to fully move on from this past relationship.
Overall, this dream may be a reflection of the need to process and release any lingering emotions or unresolved issues from your past relationship in order to find closure and peace moving forward. It may also serve as a reminder to prioritize your own well-being and boundaries in relationships, both past and present.
